ABOUT US

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE THE BEGINNING

Since our beginning in 1956, FLORIDA PLYWOODS, INC. has been owned and operated by the Maultsby family.  We pride ourselves on the quality of our finished products and the dedication of our employees.  As a company, we provide superior customer service and set demanding standards. We cultivate trust with our loyal customer base.

Our philosophy is simple.  We specialize our manufacturing to meet our customers' specifications. We outsource the components that do not fit into our manufacturing scheme.  This concept affords our customers reliable supply, consistent quality and stable pricing.

Florida Plywoods, Inc. has proudly called Greenville, Florida home since 1956. For nearly seven decades, we have supported our local economy and community, and today our facility employs 40 hardworking people.

Our commitment to American manufacturing extends to the materials we use. Almost all of the raw materials in our plywood come from domestic sources. The wood shavings used to make our particleboard, for example, come from American sawmills processing American-grown trees. We also source face veneers from American companies.

SUSTAINABILITY

Plywood makes efficient use of wood fiber, turning each harvested log into a durable, high-quality product. Our particleboard core takes that efficiency a step further by creating panels from material that would otherwise go to waste.

Because we specialize in cut-to-size panels, we can make productive use of byproducts from other wood industries. Our hardwood plywood with particleboard core is made from veneer shorts, the shorter pieces left over from manufacturing standard 8' veneers, and planer mill shavings, a byproduct of dressing lumber. Waste generated at our facility is burned in our boiler to produce steam for process heat, putting even our own scraps to work.

By getting the most from every tree, we help reduce unnecessary harvesting and keep material costs low. It's an approach that benefits our company, our customers, and the environment alike.
